"Think Like a Monk" - NYC Young Professionals Book Club Meeting

Come join us for our Third NYC Young Professionals Book Club meeting! Thank you so much to everyone who showed up to the two meetings so far and contributed to a great discussion. Speaking for myself but I know for some others as well, these meetings have been an incredible space to take a break from the busy/stressful lives so many of us live and share our love of reading and discuss really informative and interesting books. We will start off again with general introductions for any new members and then dive right into discussing the book that is chosen. This meeting will be virtual so that it can be as convenient as possible for everybody. If you have any friends who you think would enjoy this club as well please feel free to invite them!

For this meeting, the book we will be reading is “Think Like a Monk” by Jay Shetty.

Taking from Amazon, “Shetty, social media superstar and host of the #1 podcast On Purpose, distills the timeless wisdom he learned as a monk into practical steps anyone can take every day to live a less anxious, more meaningful life.

When you think like a monk, you’ll understand:
-How to overcome negativity
-How to stop overthinking
-Why comparison kills love
-How to use your fear
-Why you can’t find happiness by looking for it
-How to learn from everyone you meet
-Why you are not your thoughts
-How to find your purpose
-Why kindness is crucial to success
-And much more… “

With about a month in advance before the meeting, hopefully, that will allow everyone to get their hands on the book and read it! However, anyone is more than welcome to come to the meeting if they haven't read the novel fully. As mentioned in the previous meeting descriptions, regardless of whether you have read 30 pages, 100 pages, 150 pages, or the whole book beforehand, I look forward to learning from and hearing everyone's own opinions and takeaways!

Please make sure to RSVP as well so I can get a sense of how many people will be showing up. If you do RSVP 'yes' and cannot come, please change your RSVP to no. If you RSVP ‘yes’, I look forward to seeing you there! If anyone has any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out in the discussion section or you can email me at
