What we're about

The focus of this group is on bringing together cultivated, curious, creative and thoughtful souls for delicious discussions over yummy reasonably-priced eats (favoring BIPOC and women-owned businesses). We want to foster engagement and connection so events will be at quiet locales, usually capped at 6 attendees and total membership will be kept selective, small and well-tended like a beautiful little garden. If you are seeking groups with thousands of members and events with hundreds of attendees then this isn’t the group for you. If you were born between 1965-1980, love good literature/literary nonfiction, world cinema, classical/jazz/world music, history, nature/gardens — all paired with good international food and a strong sense of feminism and social justice — then you’ve found your new Meetup tribe!

A few rules to keep out the weeds!

  1. Profile photo showing your face required for joining group;
  2. Proof of 2-3x vaccination required for joining our dining events;
  3. One no-show or two same-day cancelations or any behavior that is unclassy and unpleasant results in immediate removal from the group as the rest of us are working hard to keep this group’s vibe consistently awesome. A $3 event fee is requested to discourage flaking and to defray costs charged by this app to the organizers.

FYI the event RSVPs are usually higher than what’s listed here as my events are often combined with my other groups including:
“Brooklyn Stargazers”

“NYC Gluten Free Dining”
https://meetu.ps/c/2YrBx/ztWf3/a

“Visits to Museums and Historic Sites In NYC”
https://meetu.ps/c/4Sxll/ztWf3/a

and “NYC Ballet Fans”

You’re welcome to check those out too!
