The Divorce Support & Social Group has been established for Melbournians who have gone through or are going through a relationship break up.

We are a gateway to meeting others experiencing a similar life change and developing new friendships. Our emphasis is on fun whilst helping and supporting each other.

We hold free monthly seminars, workshops and socials. We also have our own divorce resources guide with suggestions from our members.

Our regular social gatherings include drinks and chats, casual coffees, social nights and activities. Meetings are informal and open to all.

Better not bitter is our motto!

*It is a great opportunity to meet others. Our emphasis is on fun whilst helping and supporting each other.*

*The socials include drinks and chats, casual coffees, dinners and other activities suggested by members from time to time. Our socials are informal and open to all. We pay for own food and drinks individually and there is no charge for the organisation of the events.*

Hiking for Health and Happiness!

Needs a location

On the first Sunday of every month we take a walk in nature.

Exercise is so important to all of us and nature has its own unique way of healing.

It helps us live in the present, enjoy our surroundings, regain balance and perspective and be pleased with ourselves for going out and doing something.

And it costs nothing except time and effort.

Our hikes are all over Greater Melbourne and afar.

Generally our walks will be 2 to 2.5 hours of moderate grade. Those who want to go more quickly can but generally we try to stay as a group and enjoy the sounds and beauty of nature together.

If you would like to attend our hikes but feel anxious to attend, please remember that we are a like-minded group helping each other.

For anyone interested in more regular hikes throughout the month please join the meetup group "Hike to Heal". It is important for everyone to exercise regularly for health and happiness!

Looking after our mental health – Part of our divorce recovery seminars

Helping your journey be better not bitter - Joint event of the Divorce Support & Social Group & Melbourne Divorce Support Group.

This week we are pleased to have Clinical Psychologist – Felicity Fizelle as our guest speaker.

Our emotional and mental health is so important to our daily lives. But even more so when we are going through separation and divorce and experiencing the major life changes it brings.

Felicity’s talk will help provide the information you should know to look after yourself during times of extreme stress.

Felicity will share:
• coping tools we all should be employing in daily life
• her tips for anyone going through separation and divorce
• mental health treatment plans
• question and answer time

Felicity will try to answer what she can in the time allotted

Felicity Fizelle is a Clinical Psychologist in private practice. Her broad work includes wellbeing support, complex trauma and children’s mental health. She has international experience supporting staff who were helping victims of prostitution and sexual slavery in Greece.

Felicity is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and has a Masters Degree in clinical psychology from the University of Canberra.
Our seminar series is informal and group discussions are encouraged.

It is very helpful to learn from others’ experiences. This is an interactive seminar so please come along, bring a friend if you like and enjoy the talk and discussions.

Social – Welcome to new members & catch up for regulars - City

Royal Melbourne Hotel

Never been to one of our meet-ups before? Been a member for a while or just joined? Either way this is the social for you!

Once a month we hold a special meet-up to welcome in new members. Regulars are encouraged to attend and help new members have a fun night out!

Our monthly “newbie” social is an opportunity to learn about our groups, events held and resources to help members.

More importantly it is an opportunity to meet others going through separation & divorce in a safe and friendly environment. It helps to talk about our experiences and life changes with people who are interested and can relate. We can all learn from each other but the primary aim of the socials is to enjoy ourselves!

Our socials are hosted by members of the Divorce Support & Social Group and the Melbourne Divorce Support Group.

Wednesday night at the RMH is $15 pizza or pasta night with a drink!

We pay for own food and drinks individually.

Please RSVP if you are attending to ensure we book sufficient seats.
When you arrive at the venue ask for the table booked under the name “Meetup”.
